Lineup announced for Comment on Kentucky

KET has announced the line-up for tonight’s edition of Comment on Kentucky, its public affairs program that brings together Kentucky journalists to talk about the issues of the week.

Host Ferrell Wellman will be joined by reporters Roger Alford with the Associated Press, Ryan Alessi with the Herald-Leader and Ronnie Ellis with CNHI.

This week on Comment on Kentucky

I’ll be one of the guests this week on Comment on Kentucky, KET’s weekly public affairs program that brings together journalists from around the state to talk about the issues of the week.

Along with host Ferrell Wellman, the program will include reporters Pat Crowley from the Kentucky Enquirer and Mark Hebert with WHAS-11 in Louisville.

I’m sure there will be plenty to talk about as the legislature wraps up its last full work week of the session this week with some of the bigger initiatives of the session coming to a head including the state’s road plan, reform of the state’s educational testing program, a package revamping Kentucky’s economic development incentives and more.

With the House expected to approve the state road plan this morning, I’m sure that will be a top topic on tonight’s program, as well as a look ahead at what the final seven days of the session hold.

This week’s program is certain to center around this week’s push to pass the plan to cover the state’s budget shortfall, which should be decided Friday morning when the Senate goes into session. Other topics sure to come up are House Speaker Greg Stumbo’s video lottery terminals bill that passed committee this morning and education reform measures the Senate passed this week.
