Biden to campaign in “Evansville area” Saturday

Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden will be campaigning in the “Evansville area” on Saturday, though the times and exact locations haven’t been released.

The Associated Press and the Evansville Courier-Press cite the Barack Obama campaign as its source for the news of the visit, which was announced Tuesday night.

No word on whether Owensboro might also be on his itinerary. Biden’s sister-in-law, Sara Jones Biden, is from Owensboro and Biden made a stop in the city in 2006 to headline the Wendell H. Ford Democratic Picnic.

Biden’s not the only one on a presidential ticket coming to the area. Biden’s counterpart – Republican Sarah Palin – is in Louisville and Jeffersonville, Ind., tonight for campaign stops.

Mark Hebert with WHAS-TV has a piece today from Palin’s visit to Louisville and southern Indiana yesterday. Check it out.
