Gov. Steve Beshear will be in Owensboro again on Monday to headline a fundraiser for Democratic congressional candidate David Boswell.
Beshear was in Owensboro Sept. 25 for a fundraiser for the Kentucky Democratic Party, a stop he made while in town to unveil the “future interstate spur” signs for the Audubon Parkway.
An invitation for Monday’s fundraiser at The Springs Conference Center on East Parrish Avenue shows the event is also sponsored by former governor and U.S. Sen. Wendell Ford, local state House members Tommy Thompson and Jim Glenn, as well as the three Daviess County commissioners and most local Democratic elected officials.
Absent from the list of local Democratic officials who are sponsoring the reception is Daviess County Judge-Executive Reid Haire who lost to Boswell in the primary.
The event will begin Monday at 7 p.m. and has a suggested contribution of $250.
Update…
According to the governor’s office, Beshear will also be attending a fundraiser for state Senate candidate Kathy Groob in Louisville Monday night.
Groob, a Covington Democrat, is challenging Republican Jack Westwood of Crescent Springs in the 23rd District in northern Kentucky.
Pat Crowley with the Enquirer has the Groob fundraiser details.
